Tips for Preschool & School photos
CLIX strives to make your picture day run as smoothly as possible. Below are some important tips about different school photos and how you can get your child ready for picture day!
Picture Ready:
Make sure your child is photo ready! For preschoolers, either dress them in their cutest outfits OR send their picture day clothes with them (just make sure to tell their teachers about their change of clothes). For elementary school and above, make sure your students is dressed in nice, school appropriate clothing.
Choose fabrics that will stay wrinkle (and in a perfect world stain) free.
Select clothes and colors that compliment your student. Loud and busy prints can sometimes take the focus off your student and their smile. Additionally, bright colors like highlighter yellow and hot pink can sometimes wash out your student.
Let your student show off their style! Kids give their most dazzling smiles when they feel confident, one of the best ways to do that is by letting them help pick out a picture day outfit that they’ll feel comfortable in.
Don’t be afraid to add accessories! Make sure bows, headbands, and hair clips are secured in your student’s hair. Brush and style hair before you send your students off to school, and pack a comb or hairbrush in their bag. We know that sometimes things shift, therefore our photographers will help readjust accessories if need be.
Preschool Only: make sure you send a full outfit! Our preschool sets are full frame, from head to toe, so make sure you pack a matching pair of shoes. (Pro Tip: if you think your preschooler may need an extra picture day outfit, go ahead and pack it just in case!)
Help your child practice their smile before hand. Our photographers have many tricks to get a genuine smile but it never hurts to practice!
Finally, know that life happens. Occasionally, picture day is on a rainy day, lunch is spilled on their new shirt, or kids are just having an off day. Sometimes the photos that aren’t ‘picture perfect’ make the best memories. CLIX will always work with the school, parents, and students to help get the best photos possible.
